Medical Admissions: New Procedure for Seat Allocation
In India, the health minister has ordered a change in the medical seat allocation process.
Now, universities will release provisional lists, giving students a chance to raise objections before the final selection.
This is to prevent students with lower scores from being chosen over those with higher scores, as happened in the past.
This new procedure will be used for all medical course admissions.
Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav directed NTR University of Health Sciences to release provisional lists before final selection for medical admissions.
The new system aims to give candidates a chance to raise objections if they feel wrongly denied a seat.
This change follows concerns raised during Government Quota MBBS admissions, where some students with lower NEET scores were initially allocated seats ahead of others.
The university will now provide time for candidates to submit objections after provisional lists are published.
This procedure will be followed for ongoing PG medical admissions, as well as BDS and other medical course admissions.
