Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw Calls Bengaluru Traffic a Warning Signal

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw spoke about traffic in Bengaluru at a mobility conference.

She said the traffic is more than an annoyance.

She called it a warning that the city’s transport system is struggling.

She said traffic delays take away more than seven lakh productive hours each year.

She estimated the losses at Rs 1,200 crore, and said the real cost may be higher.

She warned that when people cannot move easily, the city’s economic strengths can suffer.

She also mentioned traffic problems in areas such as Outer Ring Road.

The event was attended by business, political, international and civic groups.
