Premji Warns Against Societal Deficit Spending
Azim Premji is a famous Indian businessman who runs a big IT company called Wipro.
In a video interview in 2010, he said that a country cannot keep spending more money than it makes, just like a person can't spend more than they earn.
He explained that if a government keeps borrowing and printing money, it will eventually have to pay huge interest, which can make prices rise and hurt ordinary people.
Premji thinks that governments should be careful with money and also use private help to improve schools in rural areas.
His message is that keeping a balanced budget is important for a healthy economy.
Azim Premji warned that a society cannot sustain spending more than it earns.
The warning was given during a 2010 interview on Big Think.
Premji compared national spending to household budgeting, stressing debt risks.
He linked deficit spending to rising interest, inflation, and loss of savings.
Premji also highlighted the role of private philanthropy in rural education.
