Kerala Govt. Seeks SC Deferment of SIR, Citing Clash with Local Body Polls
The Kerala government asked the Supreme Court to delay a special voter list update because it's happening at the same time as local elections.
The government said this would cause too much work for the people in charge of both processes.
The local elections are happening in December, and the government wants the list update to wait until they're done.
Kerala government approached Supreme Court to postpone Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls
State cited ongoing local body elections and administrative strain as reasons for the request
