J&K HC Adjourns Doda MLA's PSA Case
Mehraj Malik is a politician from the Aam Aadmi Party who represents Doda in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
He was arrested on September 8 for using bad language against a government official in a video.
The court has postponed his case to December 27 to hear more arguments.
His lawyers say he should be heard quickly because he is an elected representative.
Malik is also asking for Rs 5 crore because he says his rights were violated.
The law used to detain him, called the Public Safety Act, is very strict and can keep someone in detention for up to two years without a court's permission.
J&K High Court adjourned the PSA detention case of Doda MLA Mehraj Malik to December 27.
Malik was arrested on September 8 for using unparliamentary language against Doda Deputy Commissioner.
The court will hear arguments from the other side on December 27 before giving its judgment.
