Kaziranga sees record foreign tourists in 2025-26
Kaziranga National Park in Assam, India, had the most foreign visitors ever in 2025-26.
The Chief Minister said this shows that more people around the world are interested in visiting the park.
The park is famous for its one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and other animals.
It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means it is very special and protected.
The number of foreign tourists increased by 127% compared to 2022-23.
This means almost four times as many people visited the park.
The Chief Minister believes this is because of the good work being done to protect the park and its animals, as well as the culture and community around it.
Kaziranga National Park recorded the highest-ever foreign tourist footfall in 2025-26.
Foreign tourist numbers reached 6,699 as of December 27, 2025, up from 2,947 in 2022-23.
This marks a 127% increase in foreign tourist arrivals.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attributed the surge to global confidence in Assam's conservation, culture, and community-driven tourism.
