Zydus Nears China Launch of Desidustat, Plans Capex
Imagine your kidneys are like a filter for your blood, and sometimes they stop working well, causing a disease called Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Zydus has created a new medicine, Desidustat, to help with the anemia that CKD can cause.
They tested it in China and are waiting for permission to sell it there, hopefully within a year.
They partnered with a Chinese company to help.
They also plan to spend a lot of money to build new facilities and grow their business.
Zydus is also working on growing their business in the United States.
Zydus Lifesciences completed clinical trials in China for Desidustat, a drug for anemia in CKD.
Zydus expects to receive approvals for Desidustat in China within the next 12 months.
Zydus partnered with China Medical System Holdings Limited (CMS) in January 2020 for Desidustat's development and commercialization in Greater China.
The company is targeting approximately ₹1,200 crore in capital expenditure (Capex) during FY26.
