Nigeria's Northeast Faces Severe Hunger Crisis

Nigeria's Northeast Faces Severe Hunger Crisis

A lot of people in Nigeria's northeast are having a really hard time getting enough food.

This is the worst it's been in almost ten years.

The United Nations says that more than 55 million people in West and Central Africa don't have enough food, and most of them are in Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, and Niger.

In one area called Borno state, about 15,000 people are in big trouble.

The problem is getting worse because there's less money for help.

This means more than 13 million children might not get the food they need to grow up healthy.

The United Nations needs a lot of money to help these people, but they don't have enough right now.
