SFI Calls for College Bandh in Telangana Over Funds
Imagine a group of students called SFI are upset because the government hasn't paid colleges the money it owes for student fees and scholarships.
This money is supposed to help students, especially those from lower-income backgrounds.
The government has had the money for a long time, but hasn't given it to the colleges.
Because of this, some students have to pay out of their own pockets, which can be hard for them.
To get the government to act, the SFI is organizing a bandh, which means that the colleges will close on a certain day.
If the government doesn't release the funds soon, the students plan a big protest called 'Chalo Hyderabad.'
SFI calls for a state-wide bandh on October 30.
The bandh is for universities, degree, and professional colleges.
SFI demands the release of long-pending fee reimbursements and scholarships.
Approximately ₹8,000 crore has been pending for over six years.
