Union Bank Board Approves Rs 19,000 Crore Debt Issuance
Union Bank of India decided to borrow a lot of money—about $2 billion, which is almost Rs 19,000 crore—from investors in other countries.
They will do this by selling special bonds from their offices in Dubai and Sydney.
The bank also plans to raise money by selling shares and more bonds that follow international rules.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year, the bank made a profit of Rs 5,332 crore, which is higher than last year.
Its loans are getting safer, with fewer bad loans.

The fundraise will be executed through the Medium Term Note Programme from Dubai and/or Sydney branches.
The bank also cleared a Rs 3,000 crore equity issuance and Rs 5,000 crore Basel III‑compliant Additional Tier‑I/II bonds.
