India Unveils First Hydrogen Train After Successful Trial
India is launching its first hydrogen-powered train!
This train is a converted Diesel Electric train that uses hydrogen instead of diesel, so it doesn't pollute the air.
It will start running between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana.
The government plans to build more of these trains to replace older trains on non-electric tracks.
This is part of India's plan to have cleaner air and reduce carbon emissions.
These trains only release water vapor.
India's first hydrogen-powered train is set for launch after clearing a major trial.
The train, a converted Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU), will run on the Jind to Sonipat route in Haryana.
It features a 1,200 HP engine and can carry up to 2,600 passengers.
The project is part of the 'Hydrogen for Heritage' program, with 35 trains planned.
Hydrogen trains offer a clean alternative, emitting only water vapor.
