Fadnavis Urges Technology-Driven Farming to Break Farmers’ Debt Cycle

Fadnavis Urges Technology-Driven Farming to Break Farmers’ Debt Cycle

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said farmers need more than loan waivers to escape debt.

He said better technology and research could make farming cheaper and more productive.

Many farmers in Maharashtra have small farms and cannot invest much money.

Farming costs are rising, making it harder for them to earn enough.

Fadnavis said agricultural colleges should test new ideas and take useful results directly to farms.

Colleges should also teach farmers how to use fertilisers according to soil conditions.

He warned that too much chemical fertiliser can reduce soil quality and productivity.

He said artificial intelligence may lower farming costs and increase crop production.

He made these comments while opening a new agricultural college complex in Nashik district.

The government has also developed the Mahavistaar app to give farmers advice during the crop cycle.
