Police Remove Activist Wangchuk from Protest
Sonam Wangchuk is an activist who was protesting by not eating for 21 days.
He was asking for the Education Minister to step down.
The police took him to the hospital, saying it was because of a court order.
Some newspapers said the police were too rough, while others just reported what the police said.
The protest is led by a group called the Cockroach Janta Party.
A new police chief just started his job the day before this happened.
The group was planning to march to the Parliament the next day.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly removed from his hunger strike protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, and taken to Safdarjung Hospital.
The police claimed the action was in compliance with a High Court order for medical care.
Wangchuk had been on a hunger strike for 21 days, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Newspapers reported the incident differently, with some focusing on the police's claims and others on the opposition's criticism.
The protest is led by the Cockroach Janta Party, and a march to the Parliament was planned for the next day.
