Srinagar Police Bust Alleged Interstate Drug Network, Eight Arrested

Srinagar Police say they uncovered a large drug network in downtown Srinagar.

Eight people have been arrested in connection with the case.

Police allege that the group brought medicines and drugs from outside Jammu and Kashmir.

They say the substances were then distributed in different parts of the Kashmir Valley.

Officers seized more than 219,000 tablets and capsules, along with liquid codeine and a heroin-like substance.

They also found cash, gold, weapons, vehicles, and expensive personal items.

Two other people named by police are still missing.

Investigators are checking whether the network had links to anti-national groups, but this part of the investigation is not yet proven.
