ASI Killed by Bovine Smugglers in J&K's Samba
Imagine some police officers were trying to stop a truck because they thought it was carrying smuggled cows.
The truck driver didn't stop and instead hit the officers.
One of the police officers died because of the injuries.
This happened in a place called Samba.
People in the area were very upset and protested, wanting the police to catch the driver and stop the smuggling.
It turns out, this kind of thing has happened before.
The police are trying to stop the smuggling of animals, but sometimes the smugglers don't listen and cause trouble.
An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of J&K Police died after being hit by a vehicle driven by alleged bovine smugglers in Samba district.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning when the ASI and another officer attempted to stop a speeding load carrier.
The vehicle, carrying suspected bovine animals, evaded the checkpoint and struck the officers.
Locals and BJP leaders protested, demanding strict action against bovine smugglers and justice for the deceased ASI.
The vehicle was later found abandoned, and a search is underway to apprehend the suspects.
