Heavy Rain Brings Orange Alert to Mumbai, Thane, Palghar

Heavy rain returned to Mumbai and nearby areas after several dry days.

The rain made many people feel relieved.

Weather officials warned that very heavy rain could continue in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.

They issued an Orange Alert for the next 48 hours.

A low-pressure weather system over the Arabian Sea is helping create the rain.

Some roads in Vasai-Virar and Nalasopara became flooded.

In some places, the water reached people’s knees.

Residents were told to avoid dangerous places and be careful because strong winds may occur.

More rain is expected through Monday, with lighter to moderate rain forecast for Tuesday.
