CJP Protest Faces Delhi Curbs as NCERT Textbook Debates Governance

The Cockroach Janta Party plans to protest in Mumbai on October 2.

It says the election-roll revision process needs to be stopped and investigated.

The group also wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.

It wants the process for choosing election commissioners to include civil-society representatives.

Delhi Police did not allow a related protest at Jantar Mantar.

Police placed many barricades and sent about 5,000 security personnel to Central Delhi.

The protests are planned across seven cities and may later reach Delhi.

Separately, a new school textbook explains ‘Ram Rajya’ and several government programs in a chapter about governance.
