Maruti Suzuki Leads India’s EV Export Boom With eVitara

Maruti Suzuki is sending many cars made in India to other countries.

Its electric eVitara was responsible for most of India’s electric-car exports in the first quarter of FY27.

The company shipped 15,210 eVitaras during that period.

Since August 2025, it has exported more than 46,000 eVitaras to over 49 countries.

These countries include Japan and nations in Western Europe.

Maruti also exported more passenger cars than all 16 other Indian carmakers combined during the quarter.

Tata Motors and Mahindra exported far fewer electric vehicles.

The government says other Indian car companies should also try harder to sell cars overseas.
