NFR Intensifies Water Quality Checks Across Railway Premises

Northeast Frontier Railway is checking drinking water at its stations.

The checks help make sure the water is safe for passengers and workers.

On September 21, 2026, samples were taken at Guwahati and Kamakhya stations.

Scientists checked things such as pH, cloudiness, minerals, fluoride and chlorine.

They also tested some samples for harmful germs.

The Guwahati sample met the required physical and chemical limits.

The Kamakhya samples also met the available physicochemical limits.

Railway staff are cleaning tanks and repairing water equipment when needed.
