Commonwealth gold medallist leaves after two-hour wait for Raj Thackeray
A man named Dilip Gavit is a very fast runner from Nashik in India.
He won a gold medal at a big sports event called the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Because he is a para-athlete, he competed in a special category for athletes with disabilities.
A famous politician named Raj Thackeray gave him an appointment to come for a meeting.
Mr. Gavit went with his coach, Vaijanath Kale, but they had to wait for more than two hours.
The meeting never happened, so they got tired of waiting and went home.
Some of Raj Thackeray's helpers tried to persuade them to stay, but they said no.
The politician's group has not explained why the meeting did not happen.
So far, only the coach has talked about what happened.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Nashik para-athlete Dilip Gavit left without meeting MNS chief Raj Thackeray after reportedly waiting for more than two-and-a-half hours.
Gavit had a scheduled appointment per one report and arrived with his coach Vaijanath Kale, but the meeting did not take place despite the prolonged delay.
Gavit won gold in the men's 100m T47 event at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
MNS office-bearers reportedly rushed to persuade Gavit and Kale to stay as they left, but the duo declined and departed the venue.
The account comes from coach Kale's claim, with PTI reporting the wait as nearly two hours; the MNS has not issued an official statement explaining why the meeting did not happen.
