In return, the bank pays you extra money called interest.

Three banks, Union Bank of India, DCB Bank, and Indian Bank, changed their interest rates on August 4, 2026.

Union Bank now pays up to 6.55% on some of its plans.

Indian Bank pays up to 6.65% on its special 555-day plan.

DCB Bank pays the most for regular customers, up to 7.50%.

Older people get even more: DCB Bank pays senior citizens 8.00% and people aged 70 and above 8.05%.

Usually, the longer you keep your money in the deposit, the more interest the bank pays.
