Kanwar Yatra: Traffic Bans and Safety Measures
The Kanwar Yatra is a big event where many people go to fetch holy water from the Ganga in Haridwar to offer at Shiva temples in their hometowns.
This year, it's happening from July 30 to August 11.
To make sure everything goes smoothly, the police are putting some traffic rules in place.
From July 30, big vehicles won't be allowed on certain roads, and from August 4 to 12, no vehicles at all will be allowed on those roads.
This is to keep the roads safe for the pilgrims.
The police are also setting up special safety measures, like having police divers at the places where people will bathe and setting up a temporary police station.
Additionally, there will be more buses and a control room to help manage the crowd and ensure everyone's safety.
