Toxic Crosses ₹300 Crore Worldwide Despite Sharp India Decline
Toxic is a new film starring Yash.
It earned much less money in India on its sixth day than on its fifth day.
The film made ₹7.45 crore net in India on Day 6.
Even so, its total worldwide earnings passed ₹300 crore.
Many people usually go to cinemas on weekends, but fewer may go on Mondays because of school and work.
The film also had fewer shows and lower theater occupancy on Day 6.
The report says its early fan interest may have been concentrated in the first few days.
It also says some negative word-of-mouth may be affecting later collections.
Yash-starrer Toxic collected ₹7.45 crore net in India on Day 6, a 67.6% drop from Day 5.
The film’s India net collection reached ₹221.55 crore, while India gross stood at ₹264.80 crore.
Toxic added ₹2 crore overseas on Day 6, taking its worldwide gross to ₹304.05 crore.
Hindi led Day 6 collections with ₹4.40 crore net, followed by Kannada at ₹2 crore net.
The decline was attributed to the weekday effect, reduced shows, front-loaded demand and negative word-of-mouth.

Weekday Effect
Fading Momentum
Reason for the decline
Weekday Effect
The sharp fall is described as a typical Monday drop, as office-goers and students return to their routines and weekday theater attendance decreases.
Fading Momentum
The decline may indicate weakening momentum because the film is front-loaded and later collections depend more on word-of-mouth, which the report describes as negative.
Show availability and demand
Weekday Effect
Reduced show counts and lower weekday occupancy compressed the film’s daily earnings, even after a strong opening and weekend.
Fading Momentum
Once the core fanbase had watched the film, weaker broader audience demand may have contributed to the lower collections.
