Rajasthan Bans 42 Pharma Companies Over Substandard Drugs
Imagine the government gives out free medicine to people who need it.
Recently, some of those medicines were not good quality.
So, the government decided to stop 42 companies from providing these medicines.
The government checks every batch of medicine to make sure it's safe.
If the medicine doesn't pass the test, the company that made it cannot provide medicine for a certain amount of time, depending on how bad the medicine was.
The government is also making sure that all the medicines provided are of good quality.
Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation (RMSC) banned 42 pharma companies.
The ban is due to the supply of substandard drugs under the state's free medicine scheme.
RMSC tests every medicine batch before distribution to hospitals.
32 firms were banned for one year, 8 for two years, and 2 for three years.
The state is strengthening its medicine purchase and supply management.
