Amelia: Anti-Extremism Meme Turns Far-Right Symbol

Amelia is a fictional teenage girl with purple hair who was created for a game to teach young people about the dangers of extremism.

The game, made by a group called Shout Out UK, was supposed to help kids understand how to stay safe online.

In the game, Amelia has views that are against immigrants and shares false information.

She was meant to show what kinds of ideas can be dangerous.

But now, Amelia has become a popular meme on social media, especially on a platform called X. People who support far-right ideas have started using her image and stories about her in their posts.

Experts say that Amelia's look and the things she says in the game match some of the ideas that far-right groups believe in.

This has made her a symbol for these groups, even though that wasn't the plan when she was created.
