Delhi: Banking, NBFCs and Gas Disputes to be Resolved Faster
Imagine people having problems with their banks, financial companies, or gas supply in Delhi.
The government decided to make it easier to solve these problems.
The Lieutenant Governor approved a plan to use special courts, called Permanent Lok Adalats (PLAs), to help.
These courts offer a quicker and cheaper way to solve these issues, instead of going to the regular courts.
This should make it easier for people to get their problems resolved and reduce the workload of the traditional courts.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor approved inclusion of banking, NBFCs, and gas supply under 'Public Utility Services'.
This allows related disputes to be handled by Permanent Lok Adalats (PLAs).
PLAs provide an alternative judicial mechanism for resolving disputes.
The change aims to reduce the burden on regular courts.
It will offer accessible, low-cost, and time-bound legal remedies.
