Naqvi meets Iranian leaders to revive US-Iran mediation efforts

Pakistan is a country that is friends with both the United States and Iran, and it helped the two countries agree to start talking.

That peace plan came from a paper both countries signed in June, and Pakistan promised to help make it work.

But the plan broke, and the two countries started fighting again last month.

Because of this, a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to ships, which worries countries around the world because much of the world's energy travels through it.

A leader from Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, flew to Iran to talk with the country's top leaders.

He told them Pakistan wants the peace talks to start again.

Iran's leaders said they will open the waterway only if the United States first fixes the things Iran says were done wrong.

Another country, Oman, is now helping with the waterway problem, and Iran says that help is just a first step.

Pakistan hopes the two countries can talk again soon.
