Pensioners' Life Certificate Submission Deadline: November 30
Every year, retired government employees need to prove they're alive to keep getting their pension.
They do this by submitting a Life Certificate.
They can do this in person at banks or post offices, or use a special app on their phone to send a digital copy.
If they don't do this by November 30, they might not get their pension until they do.
There are special camps to help people learn how to use the digital method.
Retired state and central government employees must submit their annual Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra) by November 30.
Submission can be done physically at banks/post offices, via doorstep banking, or digitally using the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) system.
To generate a DLC, pensioners need their PPO number, Aadhaar number, bank account details, and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, and use facial scan authentication via a smartphone app.
Failure to submit the Life Certificate by the deadline can result in the suspension of pension payments until verification.
A nationwide campaign is underway to assist pensioners, especially the elderly and infirm, in submitting their certificates, particularly through the digital method.
