Ukraine Bonds Rise on Peace Talks
Ukraine's bonds have gone up a lot recently because people who invest in them think there might be peace soon.
The Ukrainian president and the U.S. president talked and said they are getting closer to a deal.
There's also money coming from the International Monetary Fund and the European Union to help Ukraine.
Some bonds are almost as high as they were before there were problems earlier this year, but others that depend on the country's future growth are still lower.
Everyone is hoping for peace, but it's been hard before, so we'll see what happens.
Ukraine's bonds have surged in the last 1-1/2 months due to optimism about peace talks and financial support.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy indicated progress on security guarantees.
Ukraine's 2034 and 2035 bonds are near their early February highs before a major collapse in prices.
The IMF and EU have announced financial support plans totaling $8.2 billion and 90 billion euros respectively.
Some long-term bonds linked to Ukraine's economic growth remain significantly lower than their February levels.
