India Reaffirms Arunachal Pradesh as Integral Part After China's Objection
Two big countries next to each other, India and China, are having a disagreement about a very big piece of land called Arunachal Pradesh.
India says this land belongs to India and has always been part of the country.
Recently, India gave new names to 27 places in that area.
China said it did not like that and called the new names against the rules and meaningless.
So India's spokesperson talked to reporters and said that nothing can change the fact that the land is part of India.
He also talked about Bangladesh and said its leader was invited to come visit India and to join a big meeting called BRICS.
There was also a question about a former leader of Bangladesh, and India said it is following its normal rules.
And India said it is still friends with Nepal, another neighbor, even if they do not agree about everything.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an 'inalienable and integral part of India.'
The statement followed China's objection to the renaming of 27 locations in the state, which China called 'illegal' and 'null and void.'
India's envoy to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi met Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, and India invited him for a bilateral visit and the BRICS outreach session in Delhi.
On the extradition of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Jaiswal said India is looking into the case per established processes.
Responding to Nepal's inability to locate the 1816 Sugauli Treaty, Jaiswal said relations with Nepal are very good even if the two sides disagree on some things.
