Rao Inderjit Seeks Concrete Action on Gurugram Waterlogging

Gurugram often floods when heavy rain falls.

Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh met Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to discuss the problem.

He said old drains have been blocked by buildings, roads and alleged encroachments.

Singh suggested building drains underneath these obstacles to restore the old water routes.

He also asked for more money and accountability from officials.

He said experts, including people from IITs, could help design a long-term plan.

Congress leaders said the BJP governments had failed to maintain Gurugram’s roads and drainage system.

They said the city had become flooded and difficult to travel through after rain.
