AP to Export 1.5 Lakh Tonnes of Green Bananas
The Andhra Pradesh government plans to send a lot of green bananas to countries like Iran and Iraq.
They're sending 1.5 lakh tonnes, which should make them a lot of money.
These bananas, called Robusta Grand Nadine (G9), are grown using special methods.
The bananas are grown in specific areas by many farmers.
They'll start harvesting in October and send them to Mumbai by ship.
Last year, they sent less bananas than they wanted.
They're hoping to send the bananas in two ships per week so people get them in time.
The Netherlands has some concerns about packing and storage, but the bananas are of good quality.
Andhra Pradesh will export 1.5 lakh tonnes of green bananas.
Bananas will be exported to the Middle East and Gulf countries.
The bananas are the 'Robusta Grand Nadine (G9)' variety, grown in Anantapur and Kadapa.
Farmers will harvest the bananas from mid-October to mid-March.
