CPM Leader Challenges Notices Issued During Voter Roll Revision

CPM Leader Challenges Notices Issued During Voter Roll Revision

Election officials are checking voter lists through a process called the Special Intensive Revision.

CPM leader Ch Babu Rao said some voters are receiving notices because of small mistakes in their records.

He received a notice because his father’s name was spelled differently in two voter lists.

Babu Rao said the difference came from translating a Telugu letter into English in two ways.

He attended a hearing in Vijayawada on August 18 and submitted his documents again.

He questioned why voters should be blamed for errors made during translation.

Babu Rao also alleged that many people could be removed from voter lists.

He said 45 lakh names had already been removed in Andhra Pradesh and more notices were being prepared.

These figures were presented as allegations by Babu Rao.
