Vedanta Plans Demerger, Secures Manganese Block
Vedanta Ltd, a large company, has won the rights to a manganese mining area in Andhra Pradesh, India.
This means they can explore for and mine manganese.
Simultaneously, the company plans to split into separate businesses, like dividing different parts of a toy factory into their own sections.
While the government doesn't have ownership in the demerger, they have expressed interest and asked for more information.
The company is expanding and investing heavily.
They also expect zinc prices to go up, which will help the company's cash flow and investments.
Vedanta secured the Punnam manganese block in Andhra Pradesh through an auction.
The block spans 152 hectares and is at the G4 exploration level.
Vedanta is aiming to complete its proposed demerger by the end of the year.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has requested further disclosures regarding the demerger.
Vedanta anticipates zinc prices will reach $3,000 per tonne by the end of 2025.
