KID Capsule Survives ISRO's Failed PSLV Mission
The KID capsule, made by a Spanish company called Orbital Paradigm, was the only thing that worked in a recent space mission by ISRO from India.
The mission, called PSLV C62, had a problem and didn't work as planned.
But the KID capsule managed to separate from the rocket, survive the tough conditions, and send back some data before it crashed back to Earth.
The capsule wasn't made to be recovered, but it did its job by showing it could handle the forces and heat of re-entry.
The company is happy with the results, even though they couldn't do all the experiments they planned because of the mission failure.
The rocket had a problem with its third stage, which caused the mission to fail.
KID capsule, developed by Orbital Paradigm, survived ISRO's failed PSLV C62 mission.
The capsule separated from the rocket, transmitted 190 seconds of data, and survived peak forces of 28Gs.
KID's thermal protection material maintained a payload temperature of 30 degrees Celsius.
The capsule's survival and data transmission are considered a success for Orbital Paradigm's first re-entry flight.
The PSLV C62 mission failed due to an anomaly in the third stage of the rocket.
