Mumbai's Gilbert Hill: 65-Million-Year-Old Volcanic Wonder
Mumbai has a very old and special rock called Gilbert Hill.
This rock is 65 million years old and was made when hot lava cooled down during the time of the dinosaurs.
It is one of only two rocks like this in the world.
At the top of the rock, there is a small temple called Gaondevi Mandir.
To get to the top, you have to climb 250 steps.
From the top, you can see a beautiful view of the city.
Soon, there will be a lift to make it easier for people to go up and enjoy the view.
The rock is very special because it has been there for a very long time while the city around it has grown and changed.
Gilbert Hill is a 65-million-year-old volcanic basalt formation in Andheri, Mumbai.
It is one of only two such rock structures known to exist in the world.
The hill was declared a National Monument in 1952 and has remained untouched.
At the top of the hill sits a small Gaondevi temple, accessible via 250 steps.
Authorities have approved a plan to install a capsule lift for easier access to the top.
