Assam Rifles Hands Over Historic Hillock to Manipur
Imagine a really old and important palace and temple in Manipur, called Langthabal.
For a long time, the Assam Rifles, a type of army, used part of this place.
Now, the army has given the land back to the Manipur government.
This is a big deal because the hillock is super important to the history of Manipur, kind of like a very old castle.
The army moved to a different spot nearby so they could still do their job.
The government built a new place for the army to live.
Everyone gathered to celebrate this important moment.
Assam Rifles handed over the Canchipur Hillock to Manipur's Art and Culture Department.
The hillock is also known as Langthabal Hillock, once the seat of power.
The site includes the Langthabal palace and a temple complex.
Assam Rifles had maintained an operating base there for over four decades.
A new post was built for the Assam Rifles to facilitate the transfer.
