Trump Supports Lebanon's Peace Efforts With Israel
Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun visited the US to ask President Donald Trump for help in making peace with Israel.
Aoun wants the US to support Lebanon's army, which is trying to take control of areas near the border with Israel.
He also wants Hezbollah, a militant group, to give up its weapons.
Trump said the US will help Lebanon.
However, Hezbollah does not want to disarm and opposes the peace deal.
There was a small incident where Israeli soldiers fired warning shots when Lebanese soldiers entered an area near the border.
Despite this, both sides are trying to reduce violence and work towards peace.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with US President Donald Trump to seek support for peace efforts with Israel.
Aoun asked for US backing for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to disarm Hezbollah and extend state authority.
Trump vowed to help Lebanon and authorized the resumption of direct flights by US airlines to Lebanon.
Hezbollah opposes the framework deal and the disarmament process, rejecting any agreement with Israel.
