Kargil Hero Ajay Ahuja's Story in Netflix's Operation Safed Sagar
In 1999, India and Pakistan fought a war in the mountains of a place called Kargil.
There was a very brave pilot in the Indian Air Force named Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja.
One day, his friend, another pilot named Nachiketa, had to jump out of his broken plane over land controlled by the enemy.
Ahuja could have flown away to be safe, but he chose to stay and guide the rescue, even though enemy soldiers were firing missiles at planes.
A missile then hit Ahuja's own plane.
He jumped out safely, but he hurt his knee and landed on the enemy's side of the border, where he was captured.
Sadly, he did not make it back home alive.
India said he was shot and accused Pakistan of breaking war rules, but Pakistan denied it.
For his bravery, India gave him a special medal called the Vir Chakra.
Now, many years later, a Netflix show called Operation Safed Sagar tells his story, with actor Siddharth playing Ahuja.

Born on May 22, 1963, in Kota, Rajasthan, Ahuja was Flight Commander of No. 17 Squadron, the IAF's photo-reconnaissance unit.
On May 27, 1999, when Flight Lieutenant K. Nachiketa's MiG-27 was hit and he ejected over the Batalik sector, Ahuja stayed overhead despite Stinger missile threats to guide rescue efforts.
Ahuja's MiG-21 was struck by a Stinger missile; he ejected with a fractured knee but landed across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and was captured.
India accused Pakistan of violating the Geneva Conventions after a post-mortem reportedly found gunshot wounds; Pakistan denied the allegations, and Ahuja was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra.
