Golden Globes Viewership Drops 7% to 8.7M

The Golden Globes had 8.7 million viewers this year, which is about 7% less than last year.

The show was on CBS and hosted by Nikki Glaser.

It didn't get as many viewers as the last two years on CBS, which had 9.4 million and 9.3 million viewers respectively.

A lot more people watched the NFL playoff game on NBC instead.

The Golden Globes used to have around 20 million viewers in the late 2010s.

CBS said the show had a lot of social media engagement, with 42 million interactions and 14 million people watching the host's monologue online.

CBS also filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros.

Discovery as part of a takeover bid.
