KDMC Suspends Two Staffers Over Hawker Enforcement Failure
The city of Kalyan‑Dombivli has a train station where people sell food and other things on the sidewalks.
Some of these sellers were not allowed to stay there because they block people and cause traffic problems.
The city started a campaign to remove them.
Two workers who were supposed to help with this were not doing their job, so the city suspended them.
The mayor and the city commissioner said they will keep checking to make sure the sidewalks stay clear and that anyone who does not follow the rules will be punished.
KDMC suspended two staffers for not enforcing the anti‑hawker drive near Dombivli station.
The suspended employees are Kamalakar Sonawane and Ravi Barve from J Ward.
The anti‑hawker campaign was launched after complaints about obstruction and traffic congestion.
Mayor Harshali Choudhary and Commissioner Abhinav Goel directed strict enforcement of the campaign.
J Ward Assistant Municipal Commissioner Jayaram Shinde warned that future disciplinary action would follow any negligence.
