Government confirms no ethanol in premium petrol
The Indian government has announced that premium petrol grades like XP100, poWer100, and Speed100 will continue to be sold without ethanol blending.
These premium fuels are niche products with special additives and account for less than 0.5% of total petrol sales.
The government has also stated that there are no plans to increase ethanol blending beyond 20% or to reintroduce E0 (no ethanol) or E10 (10% ethanol) petrol.
The decision is based on scientific studies and consultations with automobile manufacturers, ensuring that the current E20 fuel (20% ethanol) does not adversely affect engine performance.
