Ukraine Expands Ground Robots for Combat, Supply and Evacuation

Ukraine is using more small robots on the ground during the war.

They can carry food, ammunition and other supplies to dangerous places.

Some can also help in combat or bring wounded soldiers to safety.

This means fewer soldiers may need to enter some risky areas.

Ukraine hopes to use these machines to help with its shortage of troops.

One military corps wants robots to take over about one-third of its frontline positions by the end of 2026.

But the robots cannot do everything, and they can be hard to move or produce in large numbers.

Soldiers will still be needed for many jobs.
