Telangana Teen Dies After Injection For Fever At Rural Clinic
A 14-year-old girl in India got sick with a cold and a fever.
Her parents took her to a small village clinic called Sampath Clinic.
A doctor there gave her an injection to help her feel better.
But right after getting the injection, the girl had trouble breathing.
Her family rushed her to a bigger hospital in Khammam.
Doctors there tried to help her and checked her heart, but sadly she died.
Her father thinks the injection caused her death.
He went to the police and said the clinic was not careful enough.
Now the police are investigating what happened.
The clinic doctor is missing, so nobody knows yet for sure what caused her death.
A 14-year-old eighth-class student died after developing severe breathing difficulties soon after receiving an injection at a rural medical practitioner's (RMP) clinic in a village in Telangana's Khammam district.
The girl was a student at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Baswapuram and had been suffering from cold and fever before the incident.
Her parents took her to the nearby Sampath Clinic for treatment on Sunday evening, where the family alleged an RMP examined her and administered an injection.
After her condition deteriorated, she was rushed to a private hospital in Khammam, where doctors performed an ECG but she was declared dead.
Her father, Challa Ramesh, lodged a police complaint on Monday alleging negligence; police have registered a case and the RMP is said to be absconding.
