Hyderabad Plans Single-Ticket E-Rickshaw Service to Improve Last-Mile Connectivity
Hyderabad wants to make it easier for people to get to and from bus stops.
The city will use electric three-wheeled vehicles, called autorickshaws, that can take you from your home to a bus stop and then from the bus stop to your final destination.
You can buy one ticket that covers both the bus and the autorickshaw rides.
The plan will start in the Greater Hyderabad area and may later be used in other cities.
This new system is part of a bigger effort to make public transport more convenient and to help people avoid driving their own cars.
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) proposes electric autorickshaws linking interior areas to bus stands in Hyderabad.
Service will use single-ticket, point-to-point booking for multi-leg journeys (auto → bus → auto).
Pilot to launch in Greater Hyderabad, with plans to expand to other cities.
Initiative part of "first-mile to last-mile connectivity" to boost public transport ridership.
TGSRTC will also work on common mobility card (T-Maas) linking buses and metro.
