Andhra Pradesh Aims for Green Hydrogen Leadership by 2030
Andhra Pradesh wants to be the leader in making clean fuel called green hydrogen!
They plan to produce a lot of it by 2029, almost as much as many countries use.
They also want to build machines to make this fuel by 2027.
The state government is working with experts to create all the steps needed, from making the fuel to using it in factories.
They have good resources like sun and wind power, and lots of plants and trees (biomass) that can help make green hydrogen.
This will help keep the air clean and bring jobs to rural areas.
Big companies are already planning projects, and the government might give extra help to these green fuel efforts.
Andhra Pradesh has a long coastline, which will help in shipping this fuel too.
They believe this will make India use less imported fuel and make their state a top spot for this new energy.
Andhra Pradesh aims to become a national hub for green hydrogen, targeting 1.5 million metric tons output by 2029 and 2 GW of electrolyzer manufacturing capacity by 2027.
A dedicated advisory committee has been formed under the AP Green Hydrogen Valley Declaration to guide policy and investment.
The state leverages its top position in biomass availability and extensive solar, wind, and pumped hydro resources for hydrogen production.
NTPC Green Energy is developing a hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka with a 20-GW renewable base, targeting 1,500 tons of green hydrogen daily.
Plans are underway to make Kakinada a hydrogen hub, with the NPCL fertilizer plant converted into a one-million-tonne ammonia facility.
