Chennai Division Concludes 15-Day Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign

Southern Railway’s Chennai Division finished a 15-day campaign to make railway areas cleaner.

Many people, including students, railway workers and passengers, took part.

They cleaned thousands of target areas and removed large amounts of old waste.

The railway also held health camps and gave safety equipment to Safai Mitras, who help keep places clean.

On October 1, a large group joined a one-hour cleanup.

General Manager U. Subba Rao said cleanliness should be an ongoing effort, not just a short campaign.

The event also included performances, an exhibition and awards for volunteers.

Officials gave passengers reusable jute bags to help reduce single-use plastic.
