PFRDA Expands NPS Investment Options to Gold, Silver, and More
The PFRDA has made some big changes to the NPS, which is a pension system in India.
They've added new things like gold and silver ETFs, special investment funds, and more stocks to choose from.
This means the money in NPS can be spread out more, which could lead to better returns.
The changes also have limits to keep things safe.
People who manage these funds and other experts think this is a good move because it will help people save more for retirement and support important things like real estate and infrastructure.
PFRDA expanded NPS investment options to include gold and silver ETFs, equity-oriented AIFs, and Nifty 250 and BSE 250 stocks.
Allocations to REITs, AIFs, and ETFs are capped at 5% of a scheme’s assets under management.
Exposure to any single AIF is limited to 10% of the fund’s corpus.
Five-year returns for tier-I equity schemes range from 14.25% to 16.95%.
Industry experts believe the changes will enhance diversification and support stronger retirement outcomes.
