IPS Officer Breaks Protocol to Quell Prison Revolt

IPS Officer Breaks Protocol to Quell Prison Revolt

In 2002, a big jail in Bihar, India, had a huge problem.

Over 1,200 prisoners took control of the jail and started a riot.

They locked the main gate and put gas cylinders there to stop the police from coming in.

The police tried to talk to them for two days, but it didn't work.

Then, a brave police officer named Kundan Krishnan, along with his bodyguard and another officer, decided to climb the jail wall and go inside.

They moved the gas cylinders away from the gate so the police could cut it open.

This started a big fight, but eventually, the police took control of the jail.

Seven prisoners and 28 police officers were hurt, and four prisoners died.

For their bravery, Kundan Krishnan and his team were awarded medals many years later.
