YSRCP Alleges Teacher Absence Sparked Tribal School Student Protest

YSRCP Alleges Teacher Absence Sparked Tribal School Student Protest

In a small village in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, something went wrong at a primary school.

Some of the teachers were not coming to school to teach.

The students were left without classes, so they locked the school doors and protested to show they were upset.

A political party called the YSR Congress Party heard about it and spoke up.

The party said three of the five teachers stayed away from work and claimed they may have been drinking alcohol.

Only two teachers were coming to school regularly, so the children had no one to teach them.

The party said the government is not taking good care of public schools.

It asked the government to investigate and punish the teachers who stayed away.

The party also said the education minister should do a better job.

Every child deserves good teachers and a chance to learn.
